Link

Operation "draw something else than a portrait for a while" continues. This time I did a weird looking Link, in some sort of manga-style (I think) :S

Some more art

Version over 9000 of this hehe. Actually entering some sort of drawing contest with it.
Check it out here: http://browse.deviantart.com/contests/2012/drawthisagain/

Also once upon a time I used to draw more from my head, fantasy and such. Last year there have been so much portrait drawing I almost feel what I used to do has gotten lost.
I tried to draw something fantasy inspired again, an elf of some sort.
Not sure if I like it that much but it was fun to do.

Here are the wips and result:

It's funny to think I've only done portraits for a little more than a year. I really need to draw more fantasy so that I don't forget it.

Top 5 movies I would never watch on a first date

So once again I'm doing a request, because they're awesome! I'm always up for suggestions and so on so feel free to hit me up with them. And as the title says today's topic is movies I would never watch on a first date, alternatively some of the most disturbing films I've seen.

1: The Human centipede.

A movie about a crazy retired german surgeon who abducts a couple of people and sews them together in his grand quest to create a "human centipede"
The reason behind his actions are not easy to comprehend but the centipede is created by sewing the lips of the persons to the asshole on the person in front, so when that person takes a shit it gets in the mouth of the person behind, creating some sort of "digestinal system" or whatever you want to call it.

My point is, do not watch this on a date. The romantic atmosphere will get blown away faster than a snowman melts in sahara.

2:

Japanese gore/splatter that takes everything one or two steps too far.

There is some kind of mutation going around that causes lost limbs to be replaced with weapons.
So for example what happens when a girl gets cut in two at the waist?

If you think this is romantic you'd have to be a very twisted person and you probably shouldn't be dating in the first place...

3: Hostel

Unless you're two a sadomasochistic necrofiliacs dating each other this is one of the worst movies to introduce to someone on a first date.

A group of people in their twenties are going around europe on a trip and deside to stop by in slovak republic. After a while they become abducted and taken prisoner in some strange establishment where rich people pay to torture and kill these victims.

I don't think I need to say more here....

4: Salo

This takes place in Italy during second world war. Some rich and powerfull men abduct a bunch of children and take them to a big mansion where they read stories to them and molest them, force them to eat their own feces and beat them.

This movie has for some reason become some sort of cult-phenomenon. It's one of the worst movies I've seen, not because it's so incredibly disturbing but also so badly made and uninteresting that my brain just can't comprehend it.

If your date is into human excrement and maybe you picked him/her up at a prison psych-ward, this might just be the movie for you, enjoy.

5: Serbski Film

This is by far the most disturbing film I've seen in my entire life. I can not recommend it to anyone and if you do decide to watch this, you´ve been warned. Words can not describe how far this movie takes things.

A former porn-actor is taken captive and is forced to do some extremely disturbing things.
I won't go into detail but there's nothing romantic about it at all.

If you show this movie to a date he/she will probably be afraid of you for the rest of their life and will be moving to another country and change their identity.
If there is one movie not to watch on a date it's this one, frankly I wouldn't even show this movie to a friend.

So there you have it! A top five list of movies not to watch on a first date which also turned out to be a list of some of the most disturbing movies I've seen, but I guess that goes hand in hand quite well...

As a conclusion, a safe bet for a date movie woud probably be some kind of comedy or nice adventure or something of that sort, as long as you both want to watch it just about anything goes, exept for those listed above...

Time-line update

Almost all my portraits I've done :) Put in time order from my first/oldes to my lates/newest.
From my first portrait ever in january 2011 to my lates that I finished now in august 2012.

I think it's funny to see the diffrent styles I used in the beginning when I wasn't quite sure what techniques to use. I think all the portraits in the first row look like they could have been done by totally diffrent artists. In the end especially the last three-four finally start to look like thay were made by the same person.

Here is a link to my deviantart page for all the individual pictures in greater quality.

Till Lindermann

New portrait! This one took me ages to comlete, more hours than I can count.

I usually post the wips of the picture as I progress but this was made as a gift to a very dear friend
of mine and I didn't want to ruin the surprise :)

Drawn on A3-drawing paper (297 x 420 mm) with graphite pencils.
For those of you that don't know Till Lindermann he is the lead singer in the band Rammstein.
If you don't know who Rammstein are, all I can tell you is that you're really missing out on epic music bro!

Since this one took so long and is drawn in 2-3 hour shifts I made many wips.
You can see quite clearly here how I build the picture from darkness to light.
Like with the hair I just paint over the whole area with diffrent shades of black and grey and then go over it with an eraser and bring forth individual hairs. There is even more texture in the skin and so on that I could have done but at my current skill-level this was the best I could manage.
Still hope you like it though!

The best movie trilogies

So in celebration of Christopher Nolans last batman movie completing his trilogy I felt like listing my favourite movie trilogies. This is going to be a personal list, completely for fun.
Some of you are going to agree and some may not but that's the charm of these lists I suppose :)

So without further ado here's number nine! (because I couldn't think of ten I liked :P)

9: Terminator.

Arnold Schwarzenegger as the time travelling killer robot is as iconic as it is badass.
One of the best action movie trilogies out there.

8: The naked gun.

Leslie Nielsen as lieutenant Frank Drebin is one of the best and funniest comedy movie trilogies out there to this date.

7: The Matrix.

The matrix trilogy is mainly so good because of the amounts of brainfucks combined with genre revolutionising visual effects and the steampunk badass-ery (is this even a word?)
"Badass" pretty much sums up this trilogy though.

6: Alien.

The alien trilogy is the OG (original gangster) of sci-fi horrors.
What more can I say?

5: Jurassic Park.

Jurassic Park was the movie that truly introduced computer generated effects to major motion pictures. It opened up a whole world to the viewers that thay had never seen like this.
I rewatched the trilogy recently and It's still as good as when it came out and it's not only because of the CGI (computer generated imagery) these movies are candy to the imagination.

4: Hannibal.

The hannibal movies are some of the best thriller/horror movies out there.
Espesially "silence of the lambs" which has become iconic.

3: Christopher Nolans batman trilogy.

Not much to say here that has not been said.
I did not like "batman begins" a whole lot to be frank but "the dark night" and "the dark night rises" are some of the best movies of all time and this is a trilogy to be recognized.

2: The Lord of the Rings.

Peter Jackson's trilogy from J.R.R Tolkien's classic books with the same name.
These are without doubt the best fantasy movies made, atlest in my mind.

1: Star Wars

And yes of course the original three ones.
I can watch these how many times I want and they'll never get dull.
It's incredible how they were made in the 1970's and are in my opinion more well made and estunnishing than most of the movies made today.
They have stayed popular since thay came and their popularity will probably never fade.
